When do you get to rest?

If you want it done right, you never do. The phone rings, an email lands, and two hours later you're still there.

Double Entry

The same load typed into dispatch, then accounting, then the driver's phone. Three chances to get it wrong, and a full day a week just re-keying.

Slow Invoicing

The missed document that holds up the invoice for a week. The load is delivered, the money isn't, and someone has to chase the POD before anyone gets paid.

Status Calls

The phone ringing all day because someone is tracking the wrong truck. Every call is a person pulled off real work to answer a question the system should already know.

Compliance

The trailer that went out with a defect because the next driver did not see the red tag. One missed step at the yard becomes a roadside inspection, a fine, or worse.

It's your name on the door. People are perfect at being human, and one mistake can cost you the business. So you check it all yourself, every day. At eight office hours per truck per week, a 10-truck fleet spends about $75,000 a year making sure things happened.

Run the Numbers

And the outside pressure is coming. Shippers, brokers, and regulators now want a real system behind the truck, not a phone and a folder.

How Gridabyte closes the gap.

Gridabyte never sleeps and never misses a process, so you finally can. It's the first thing in the building that worries about this as much as you do.

You stop being the fail-safe.

On OpTMS the correct way is the default. Not perfect. Just no longer optional. The document gets uploaded before the truck moves, or the truck doesn't move.

Money moves daily. So do the numbers.

Fuel, pay, and profit update with the day, so when the market moves you are not quoting last month's world.

Be on a system because it runs the company.

Not because you got forced onto someone else's.

What changes when the system runs the process.

Every driver, load, truck, vendor, bill, and invoice goes through the same steps, so nothing gets skipped and nothing depends on memory.

Owner is the last safety netThe system catches the exception, so you finally can rest.

The system that makes a driver's day easier is the system that keeps the driver.

Drivers are the scarcest thing in trucking. The industry is short tens of thousands of them, and turnover runs past 90% at many carriers. The ones you have are the ones you want to keep.

OpTMS puts everything dispatch knows in the driver's hands: the load, the paperwork, the next step, without a call to the office to find out. Forced compliance, real-time alerts, and visibility that never sleeps handle the grind. Your drivers stop waiting on someone. Your office stops firefighting. That's not fewer people. That's the same people spending the day on the freight and the customer instead of the phone.

What running the system since 2021 actually changed.

Every control here was built on a real operation before it was ever sold. The hours the office used to spend chasing status and paperwork come back to you. Put them into customers, into growth, or straight back into your margin. That's your call, not ours. Growth that once put customer satisfaction at risk is now something the system catches early, long before the office finds out the hard way.

The system tells us when something is wrong, and customers notice the difference.

      Tried and True.

OpTMS wasn't built in an office and then sold to trucking. Work on it started in 2019 inside the fleet that built it, it went live there in 2021, and then it ran through the 2022 to 2025 freight recession, four years of too much capacity. That fleet came through it with fewer people and less energy than the boom years, because by then the system was carrying the weight. In 2025 it became its own company.

The owner will tell you plainly that effort explains part of that record, and that he was given more than he earned. He built the system so the part that depends on effort would never again depend on one exhausted person.

The verdict came from people who don't hand out compliments. C.H. Robinson named that fleet Carrier of the Year two years running, 2021 and 2022, out of roughly 73,000 contract carriers, and the brokers quoted above see its updates every day. Every control in OpTMS is proven there before it ships.

      Questions worth asking

      How much does OpTMS cost?

$150 per truck, per month, one plan with everything included. It's priced per truck, not per user, so adding a dispatcher never raises the bill. The truck count is set once a year: you pay for the trucks you're running when you sign up, that number holds until your annual review even if you grow, and if you shrink, call us and we lower it. Every truck counts, including spares. Trailers don't.

Can I cancel if it doesn't deliver the savings?

Yes. There's no contract and no term. You pay month to month, and if it isn't paying for itself, you cancel and it stops. That's the guarantee: you're never locked in.

Will drivers actually follow the steps?

The system doesn't ask politely: BOL, POD, and DVIR checkpoints are required before a driver can move to the next step, the same way they'd be required on paper, just enforced automatically. And drivers already have everything they need to execute without calling the office, the same information dispatch has, so the pushback is usually shorter than owners expect.

      Who owns the data?

You do. Every company gets its own database, and with an active account you always have access to it. If you cancel after a three-year subscription, you keep login access to your records for three more years on Google's servers, which lines up with the federal three-year retention window for driver qualification files. If you cancel before three years, you download your files and keep them on your own system. Federal record-keeping responsibility sits with the carrier, not the software, so either way the records stay yours and stay reachable.

      How long does setup take?

Two days to build your company's own database. Getting fully comfortable takes about a month of using it daily and asking questions. The pace depends on your company and on matching schedules, which is why the first step is a scheduled conversation, not a form.

Is this only for larger fleets?

No. Smaller companies can run it, but around five trucks is where it clearly pays for itself, for you and for us. If you're big enough to have someone in the office, you're big enough for this.

      Does OpTMS replace my ELD?

No, and it isn't one. Your ELD stays your ELD. OpTMS runs alongside it as a redundant record: every driver's mobile login gathers nearly the same GPS data and logs arrivals and departures in real time. When an ELD fails, and they do, Gridabyte still has the data: where the truck was, when it arrived, when it left. It won't stand in for your logs under the mandate, but you won't be reconstructing the day from memory. It's also connected to C.H. Robinson, including its load board, Samsara, and live EIA diesel prices.
